Marseille chairman Pape Bouba Diouf has admitted that the notoriously long transfer saga of Samir Nasri to Arsenal is set to come to an end very soon, but revealed he would say no more until the move is complete.
Yesterday, 20-year-old Nasri announced that a move to the Gunners was signed and sealed on his personal website with Marseille quick to deny that any move was completed just yet.
Nasri’s agent Jean-Pierre Bernes also said the player’s announcement was “premature” and that discussions were ongoing between the two clubs.
Nasri made just two outings as a substitute at Euro 2008 as France were eliminated at the group stages.
He has spent the last four seasons with Marseille and came to prominence in France’s Under-17 European Championship side in 2004.
